THE SETTING

Every room at Malia was designed around natural light and a restrained palette of tactile finishes. Skylights pour soft light across vaulted ceilings through the day, arches frame the view from room to room, and the material palette of oak, stone and microcement photographs warm and true with very little intervention.
The two residences share one address and connect through a rear gate, so a production can move from a family kitchen to a couples’ sauna courtyard without packing a van. Shoots are scheduled around guest stays, with a Malia host on site for the whole booking.

Tell us the shoot type, dates, hours, crew size and the spaces you need. We reply within one business day.

Hold your date
We confirm availability around guest stays and hold your date for 72 hours at no cost.

Confirm
Sign the location agreement, pay your deposit and send your public liability certificate.

Plan
We share the address, access, parking and a floor plan with your producer ahead of the day.
05
Produce
Your Malia host meets you, walks the property with you and stays on hand until the last case is packed.
GOOD TO KNOW
Before you book
Where exactly is Malia?
Malia is in Huskisson on the shores of Jervis Bay, around two and a half hours south of Sydney, 400m from the beach and the main street. The street address is shared with confirmed bookings only, and we ask that it is never shown, captioned or credited in published work.
What insurance do you need from us?
A current certificate of currency for public liability cover of at least $20 million, an ABN and a signed Malia location agreement. Productions bringing lighting, grip or rigging should also hold equipment and property damage cover.
Is there a bond?
Yes. A refundable bond is held from confirmation and released within 5 business days of the closing walkthrough. Bond details are included with your quote.
How do you protect the home during a shoot?
We ask crews to use floor protection under stands and equipment, keep food and drink to the kitchens and alfresco areas, and avoid tape, hooks or adhesives on walls, stone or joinery. Haze, smoke, confetti, glitter and open flame need prior approval.
Can we move furniture and restyle?
Of course. Your Malia host will help you move pieces and photograph each room on arrival so everything returns exactly as found. Larger furniture removal can be arranged in advance.
What if the weather turns?
For outdoor-led shoots, you can move your booking once at no cost if you let us know by 12pm the day before, to a new date within 3 months, subject to availability.
Can we shoot on the beach or in town?
Yes, though public land needs its own approval. Shoalhaven City Council issues permits for council land, and Jervis Bay Marine Park and national park areas have separate requirements. We are happy to point you to the right contacts.
How should we credit the location?
Where it suits the format, please credit “Shot on location at Malia Huskisson, Jervis Bay” and tag @maliahuskisson. Credit is appreciated, never required.
